We are thrilled to welcome Laurent-Perrier’s new brand ambassador, Caroline Desaulle. Caroline has relocated to Sydney from the Laurent-Perrier Headquarters in Tours-sur-Marne, France, to represent the renowned champagne house in Australia and Asia Pacific. Excited by her arrival, we recently had the chance to sit down with Caroline to ask her a few questions on how she got into the champagne industry, which champagne she loves to drink and how she can help our Winestock customers.
How did you get into the Champagne Industry?
I discovered the Champagne region when I was 18 years old after leaving Paris to study at NEOMA Business School in Reims. A passion for wine and champagne was sparked and soon my weekends were full of visiting winegrowers, vineyards and discovering the different areas of Côte de Blancs, Montagne de Reims, Vallée de la Marne and Aube. In September 2016, I joined the project of ‘B.LIV Champagne’, a venture of two young women selling a Champagne Blanc de Blancs inspired by women and committed to empowering women and entrepreneurship. This was a unique opportunity for me to learn more about the champagne industry and become part of an exciting project. I contributed to this emerging business by designing marketing and sales tools and selecting distribution channels as well as building the brand.
Which Laurent-Perrier Champagne is your go-to and why?
My favourite champagne is Cuvée Rosé! I love doing parings with multicultural cuisines from all around the world. I have found champagne Cuvée Rosé to be a unique wine that matches so well with all types of food. Its aromatic depth makes it ideal for pairing with marinated raw fish, grilled prawns, exotic dishes, Parma ham and red fruit desserts. For audacious/daring experiences I definitely recommend trying Cuvée Rosé with Asian or Indian cuisine. It is always a great pleasure to enjoy its ripe red fruit aromas, its high intensity and great freshness.

How can you help our customers in NSW?
Australia and New Zealand are two dynamic markets and there are many opportunities to invest in Laurent-Perrier’s future here by developing strong partnerships. My mission is to regularly visit customers when accompanying the Account Managers on their sales calls. I hope to assist with business to business relations as well as private buyers. I will be responsible for the organisation of events related to the promotion of Laurent-Perrier including setting up and taking part in strategic events, dinners and tastings. I will be responsible for the sales of Laurent-Perrier cuvées with the different distributors’ sales team. It is a great honour for me to support Laurent-Perrier and to represent the house on this side of the world in my brand new-role as Brand Ambassador in Australia and Asia Pacific.
